Twain’s outfit featured a silver, metallic bodysuit that hugged her figure, layered with sheer lace detailing that added an air of elegance. She paired the look with a flowing pale pink jacket, exuding glamor with every move. Her matching cowboy hat and pink sunglasses further accentuated her bold stage persona, while her choice of glittery platform heels completed the dazzling attire.
Others on Facebook were more direct. “She is old. Put some clothes on. Have some class,” one user said. Another observed, “It really looks like a rhinestone diaper!” However, some acknowledged Twain’s fitness and charisma. “She is in great shape, but this outfit is terrible,” one fan noted.
Users continued to voice their disappointment, with one writing, “Horrible look for her! So tacky and classless, I expect better from Shania,” and another stating, “She needs to eat and wear [age-appropriate] clothes.”
On X (formerly Twitter), the discussion continued with a mix of critiques and observations. One user shared, “The designer should be fired. Looks like a diaper. As for her wearing the costume, she’s in great shape and if she wants to wear it and people will pay to see it, good for them.” Another divulged, “It looks like she has a diaper on. This is not attractive.”

Some defended Twain’s choice, explaining, “It is actually a body suit with skin color, full skin color tights with costume elements over it (or could be sewn to it. So while skin tight, she is totally covered [sic].”
Another mentioned, “Well, first off, she has a type of full-body pantyhose thing going on.” Yet, even among explanations, a user expressed, “Regardless, she is trim!”

TikTok also offered its share of opinions, with users divided between admiration and concern. One commenter wrote, “any singer I notice who is in decline always starts shedding the clothing. it’s so sad. it totally takes away from their talents [sic].” Another posted, “whomever decided on this wardrobe for Her should be FIRED [sic]!”
A critical fan noted, “She looks amazing but the bottoms aren’t flattering because you can see the ‘old lady legs’. It gives trying too hard [sic].” However, not all comments were negative; some were more empathetic in tone. One user quipped, “That outfit is dreadful,” while another shared, “I’m embarrassed for her.”
Amid the wardrobe controversy, Twain has remained focused on connecting with her fans and celebrating the final shows of 2024 in Las Vegas. On December 6, the country music star shared a lively Instagram post featuring herself and several fans, which included women and even young girls.

Alongside the photos, she wrote, “If I don’t invite my gorgeous fans up onto the @phlivevegas stage during a show… is it even a Shania Twain show?! We had a wild Wednesday night in Vegas – what a crowd! You guys knew how to have fun!!”
Earlier, on December 1, Twain posted about her excitement to be back on stage for the holiday season. In her message, she penned, “I’m feeling very thankful to be back in my happy place this holiday weekend – The first night back at @phlivevegas to kick off the final shows of 2024 did not disappoint!! Thank you for coming out and singing along to every word, I’m excited to see all you gorgeous people again tonight!”
Building on her recent performances, Twain’s L.A. journey continues to gain momentum. In August 2023, the five-time Grammy Award winner revealed on CBS Mornings that she would headline a new Las Vegas residency in 2024, titled “Shania Twain: COME ON OVER – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits!”. This highly anticipated residency launched on May 10, 2024, at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
During the announcement, Twain shared her excitement, saying, “It is a very special time for me. I am happier than ever to be on stage. I am just loving life, loving sharing my new music and … just feeling really happy, and I am hoping to just get up there and bring some inspiration, more positivity.”

She described the residency as a “reshare” of her iconic Come On Over album, released 25 years ago, and promised fans, “All the hits will be on the show and hopefully we will just have a lot of fun together.”

Twain also took to Instagram to break the news in a fun video clip posted on August 15, 2023. “The news is out – I’m returning to Vegas!! My brand new residency COME ON OVER opens May 2024 at @bakkttheaterlv at @phvegas! I’m giving you ALL THE HITS. Get your tickets now!” the caption read.
In July 2024, Twain shared her excitement about returning to the stage for the next leg of her residency, which celebrates her landmark 1997 album Come On Over. She described the project as a unique homage to the record that remains the best-selling album by a female solo artist of all time.
Twain also reflected on her journey from humble beginnings to superstardom. Early in her career, she often had to style herself due to budget constraints. “The wardrobe for ‘Any Man of Mine’ and ‘Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under’ — I just went to Target. And then the denim on denim, which has become quite a fun thing for fans to wear, that was just out of my closet,” she said.

Her journey began in country bars in Ontario, Canada, where she performed as a child. “I was very uncomfortable with it,” she admitted, recalling how she sang in adult venues, many of which had cages.
Despite the discomfort, Twain performed because the adults around her believed she was destined for stardom. However, her aspirations leaned toward becoming a veterinarian or engineering architect.

Music, though, remained her passion. After The Woman in Me gained traction in 1995, Twain made the bold decision to focus on writing her next album instead of touring. “A lot of people lost a lot of money for me not going on tour. But I didn’t care. Dedicating myself to the writer in me, I wrote a better album,” she shared.
That decision paid off, as Come On Over became a groundbreaking success, featuring hits like “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” and “You’re Still the One.”

The Canadian-born singer-songwriter’s resilience and adaptability extend beyond her career. She faced personal challenges, including throat surgery, the sudden loss of her parents at age 22, and a public divorce, all of which shaped her approach to overcoming stage fright. “I just decided there were so many other things that were genuinely worth being afraid of — being on stage isn’t one of them,” she revealed.

Between shows, Twain said she found solace on her ranch, where she spent time with her five horses. “This is a little park oasis that I can just walk out my door and do this. It’s so calming and peaceful,” she expressed in her July 2024 interview.
Shania Twain’s bold choices, both in fashion and music, continue to spark conversation and cement her influence.
As she embraces her Las Vegas residency and connects with fans, she proves her enduring ability to command the spotlight and leave a lasting impact.
