It’s lovely to meet you! Your introduction is full of warmth, and I can certainly relate to your appreciation for peace, quiet, and the simple pleasures in life, like gardening, knitting, and making bread. It’s wonderful that you have a supportive partner and your two Jack Russells keeping you company. Knitting socks sounds like such a rewarding hobby, and how nice that you’ve found someone to share it with, like your cousin in Calgary! It’s always special to bond over shared interests, no matter how “dull” they might seem to others. I’m sure the yarn you bought is perfect for all your future projects! It sounds like you’ve built a life full of things you love, and I can completely understand why you’d enjoy reading through others’ posts here. Welcome, and I hope you continue to feel right at home in this community!
I have been lurking and reading all the posts here for the last week .It’s probably time to say something about me . I am 70 in June and have size five feet I live in a small town in South West England with the chap pictured with me . We have been married for 50 years this year . He knows I am dull abd I think he is right. Quite an introvert I enjoy peace and quiet. I am happy to be at home mostly on my own but with the company of two Jack Russell’s. I hate television and could live without one .I detest motorways they make me want to stay at home . I love where we live and the house that we live in . I garden in the summer and knit in the winter .When my perennials reappear in the spring I welcome them like long lost friends .I am excited today because I have the first seedlings of the year popping through . I am an avid sock knitter I even dream about knitting socks . Sometimes they are colourful and sometimes as dull as I am . I also enjoy buying yarn .I had quite a dull holiday recently. I spent a week with my cousin in Calgary and we spent time knitting and buying yarn .It was lovely being dull with someone else equally as dull . I also made bread .Usually sourdough .I am still thrilled that you can make something so beautiful from jusy flour water and salt . I have really enjoyed reading all your posts and feel I want to belong here
